1. As Case covered in yesterday’s article lacrosse coach Kellie Young has been relieved of her duties. I believe Case covered it well and have little to say to the situation due to my lack of familiarity with the coaching staff and the entirety of the situation. But if the accusations about Coach Young are true then it is in the best interest of the university to part ways with her despite her success with the program. Women’s Basketball With women’s basketball only two days away we see more news every day. The latest includes Asia Durr and her incredible guard skills. She has been named to the 2018 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Watch List. The annual honor in its inaugural year recognizes the top shooting guard in women’s basketball. There isn’t a better player in women’s basketball right now to win the award. Durr is coming off of a record-breaking season as a sophomore and is in perfect position to continue breaking records. She’s already in the 1,000 point club and owns the record for 119 three-pointers in one season. She also is on a streak of 39 games with a made “THREEEEE”, and we hope she continues the school record this season. Expect great things this season out of Asia including a 2018 national award. Donation Month My first time contributing to Cardinal Couple was appearing on the show as a guest in the spring of 2016. I started joining them full time earlier this year, regularly appearing on the show with the A-Team when not turning 20’s into 5’s and 10’s at the bank. Besides my bold predictions and weekly write ups for the site I’ve been seen at numerous games with a camera. Sometimes I catch a good play. Sometimes I catch a funny face by a player. And sometimes I forgot to take the lens cap off and end up with a blank photo. However, I do enjoy being a part of Cardinal Couple, as well as participating on the show that WCHQ fm graciously hosts every Saturday. The generous donations we receive from our fans, followers, readers and friends go a long way and help keep Cardinal Couple running. I’m glad to be a part of all of this but it is YOU that’s Cardinal Couple.
