Doggy's blog has passed a milestone as Geno is about to hit his 1000th win!!!
Since starting this blog in October of 2014, I have had over 500,000 views. Yes, a half a million!!!!
That's 880 different blog entries in around 1200 days. I've been busy.

Tuesday night, Geno (and CD) go for win #1,000 against Oklahoma.
There are some amazing facts behind the march to 1,000 victories. For example, it took Geno 153 games to win his first 100 games at UConn. That's right, Geno lost 53 games before he won the 100th. The next 100 wins came a bit easier, but not by much. Geno lost another 28 games before winning #200. That brought his overall record to 200-81, nine seasons into his UConn coaching career.
From then on out, the victories came easier and quicker. After winning his 200th game on January 2, 1995, Geno added #300 on November 29, 1997. His loss total during that next 100 wins was just 5 !!
Wins #400 and #500 came in December of 2000 and April of 2003. Total losses for those 200 wins, just 13! The wins kept piling up and so did the National Championships. Win number 800 was special because it was against Notre Dame on March 6, 2012. 
Geno joined the 900 win club on February 3, 2015, against Cincinnati. The hundred wins between 800 and 900 came with only 5 loses. Amazingly, it was the sixth time Geno had won 100 games with only single-digit loses. In fact, the 700 victories after win #200 came with just 53 loses. That's right, Geno went 100-53 to start his career and then 700-53 from 1997-2015. This guy may have a future in coaching..!!
Nothing has been more remarkable that Geno's run from 900 wins to his try for 1,000. If the Huskies beat Oklahoma, Geno's record from the 900th win will be 100-1..!! Truly amazing..!!

There are currently 8 unbeaten teams in Women's College Basketball. Some of the usual suspects are missing, like Notre Dame (
), Baylor and South Carolina. In their place are some teams we love to hate. Tennessee (11-0) and Syracuse (11-0). Also, there are some surprises like Villanova (9-0), West Virginia (9-0 ) and Ball State (8-0). As the conference schedules pick up, look for many of these first five to fall. The remaining three unbeaten teams are not a surprise, at least not much of one. #1 UConn (8-0), #5 Mississippi State (11-0) and #3 Louisville (13-0). Of those three, Miss. State has the hardest schedule ahead. For one thing, they play both Syracuse and Tennessee. Then they take on South Carolina in February. Louisville also has to play Syracuse, Notre Dame and Florida State. Of course, the big test will be February 12th against UConn.
Odds are the eight unbeaten teams will be reduced to only a few by the end of February. Hopefully, just one...
