This is the most forced "college star" I have ever seen, hands down.  I can't even think of anything comparable.  To me, it ties in with all the other mediocrity promoted in the mainstream.  As for Trae Young's basketball game...

1.  He is not very good at basketball, his shot is ugly and his handles are weak
2.  He is small, and he plays small. (He might be listed at 6'2", but he is barely 6', looks 5'10")

Steph Curry was 10x better in college, I don't care about the stat lines.  Steph Curry was fluid, a great dribbler and an effortless shot.  When I watch Trae Young play basketball, I want to cry it's so ugly.
