Catching up with Sam Fuehring -- MONDAY CARDINAL COUPLE

(THIS WEEK ON "CATCHING UP WITH" WE CHAT WITH UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE WBB STAR SAM FUEHRING.) 

A lot of the successes that the UofL women's basketball team had in the 2017-18 season were, in part, made possible by the strong play of Sam Fuehring. She returns for her fourth and final season in 2018-19 and will, once again, be looked at as one of the leaders of the Cards. 

We caught up with the busy Sam and had a nice chat about her summer, the past season, things she wanted to work on and being a senior. It is very hard to come to grips with, t realize that she is a senior, first off. Sam was part of the highly regarded recruiting class that arrived on the Louisville campus in the fall of 2015. Six freshmen (along with transfer Briahanna Jackson) came in to replace eight previous year letter-winners. Out of the six, only Sam and Asia Durr remain on campus. 

Sydney Brackemyre finished her career at the University of Indianapolis. Taja Cole will be a red-shirt junior at Georgia. Erin DeGrate will be a junior at Texas Tech this fall. Brianna Jones is a Georgetown and will be a junior as well. 

As you listen to the interview with Sam...some of the things you'll hear her reveal:

It was a fun 16 minutes with Sam. As a senior leader in 2018-19, with Arica, Asia and transfer Yacine Diop...Sam will have a big and quite essential role in the Cards successes and drive to get to Tampa for the 2019 NCAA FINAL FOUR.
