Daily Mail: 'There is nothing I can do': Trump blames Dems for shutdown which leaves 800,000 government workers without pay and federal services suspended in dispute over $5BILLION border wall fund

The U.S. government officially shut down on Friday at midnight
Donald Trump hit out at the 'Democrat shutdown' in a video posted to Twitter
Government closed after Congress failed to pass a funding bill and rejected Trump's $5.7billion border wall proposal
It means 420,000 Americans will be forced to work without pay over the holidays and 380,000 federal employees will be furloughed
Senators said Friday evening they would not vote on any additional legislation to keep the government open until the president strikes a deal with Democrats
In his video, Trump asked for the Democrats help, saying: 'Let's get out, let's work together, let's be bipartisan and let's get it done'
Essential agencies will continue to run, albeit without pay, such as 53,000 TSA agents and 54,000 customs and border patrol agents
Nine departments impacted include homeland security, transport, commerce, state, agriculture, interior, treasury and housing and urban development
No visitor services will be provided at tourist attractions such as the nation's national parks
Lawmakers will convene Saturday at 12pm EST to negotiate a deal

The U.S. government officially closed early Saturday morning and lawmakers are set to convene at the nation's capital today to sort out a last minute plan.

The partial government shutdown ignited anger and frustration on Capitol Hill after Democrats rejected President Donald Trump's proposed a $5.7billion bill to fund his U.S. - Mexico border wall.

As a result, by midnight the funding for government agencies expired, leaving roughly 800,000 federal workers without paychecks.
