I waited for the end of this game before publishing this blog.
No. 5 Mississippi State lost to unranked (maybe not for long) Missouri xx-xx in a huge upset in the SEC and a game that has ramifications for UConn and their seeding.
It's the first SEC loss for Mississippi State and their first regular season loss in the SEC in almost 2 years. And it was the first win ever for Missouri on MSU's home court.
With this loss, MSU should be out of the No. 1 seed in the Albany region and UConn should move from No. 2 to No. 1. As Geno says, he will worry about the seedings when they are official, but still, UConn fans can be happy about having a No. 1 seed again.
Missouri was just tougher than Mississippi State in this game. The majority of the 50/50 balls went Missouri's way. And Sophie Cunningham showed true grit in this game. She was really sick, had several IV's before the game in the last 48 hours and was really really sick to her stomach. She refused to sit out and even in her condition, she scored 24 points and was 4-9 on threes and had a HUGE steal late in the game. She is the player you hate when you go against her but love when she is on your team or on the team that is playing the team you want to lose. I think.....

Four more upsets Thursday night in the Top 25 but all were at the bottom of the rankings.
No. 21 Florida State lost to Clemson 73-68. The Tigers are making a play for an NCAA tournament birth.
No. 23 Rutgers lost to Ohio State 59-39. Really. I have more to say on that later.
No. 24 Michigan State lost to Wisconsin 79-62. That is a really bad loss for MSU. Will their early season win over Oregon keep them in the tournament?
It's too bad that UCF is playing UConn Sunday. With the No. 21, No. 23 and No. 24 teams losing it would be a great chance for Central Florida to break into the Top 25. Well, Unless they beat UConn....nahhh!!! Maybe just a good loss (less than 20) to UConn will let them sneak in?

It's time. I'm sure you have all been waiting for another one of these. SO here goes!!!!
In an upset Thursday night, unranked Ohio State beat No. 23 Rutgers. But that's not the story. We have an UGGY award candidate in the Scarlet Knights!
Rutgers was only able to score 39 points. 6, 12, 8, and 13 in the quarters. They shot 16-61 from the field for 26.2% and 2-21 on threes for 9.5%. You could build Trumps wall with all of those bricks!
So congrats to Rutgers and C.Viv Stringer on getting this great award. Grab the trophy on your way out of the Top 25.

By David in Naples!!!!!
Stewie finished her career #2 on UConn's all-time scoring list with 2,676 points. Katie Lou is exactly 500 points away from Stewie, so 2nd place is too far to reach. Tina Charles is 3rd with 2,346 points. That is a difference of 170 points. Ten games of 17 points puts KLS right there with Tina.
Lou and UConn have 6 regular season games left and hopefully 3 AAC tournament games. Getting to the Final in the NCAA tournament would add another 6 games. Third place is not an "out of reach" goal. Since the next 3 points will vault her into 4th place, that is Samuelson's worst case scenario.
Napheesa is currently #11 on that all-time scoring list with 2,085 points. Pheesa is 93 points away from 4th place herself. That is because only 45 points separate #10 and #4. Unless Collier can make up the 91 points Lou is ahead of her, Pheesa's best finish would be 5th place, behind Lou, Tina, Stewie and Maya.
One record neither Katie Lou or Pheesa have to worry about is the Best Two Classmates Scoring Record. Lou and Pheesa have a combined 4,261 points. That puts them ahead of the previous top duo, Stewie and MoJeff, who have 4,208 points.
Go Huskies..!!
